Footsteps in Northumberland, a guided walks and outdoor activities provider, offers:
The best guided walks in Northumberland and
The Ingram Valley Farm Safari - a unique National Park Experience
Our training courses include Map and Compass skills for beginners
On a Footsteps guided walk, we explore the Northumberland Coast, the hills and valleys of Northumberland National Park, the Berwickshire Coast in Scotland and many places in between. On our guided walking adventures we explore and discover the wildlife, wildflowers, the landscapes and cultural history of Northumberland.
The Saints, Kings and Sinners associated with early Christian communities and the Anglo-Saxon period is embedded in Northumberland and there are many tales to tell.
There are a great many prehistoric features, the archaeology runs deep and on a Footsteps walk we discover hillforts, cup and ring rock art and burial cairns dating back thousands of years.
There is always something to see in Northumberland; the wildlife is extraordinary and the wildflowers in the Spring and Summer are a treat to see. On a Footsteps walk on the Pilgrim's Way to Holy Island, you can see and hear hundreds of grey seals hauled out on the sandbars. At St. Abbs Head, thousands of seabirds nest throughout the Summer and we look for rare butterflies on a walk around the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
